I’ve worked in healthcare for over twenty years, supporting busy physicians and clinicians.
I love helping solve problems and I do not give up until I’ve found a solution. As a mental health VA, my mission is to relieve your stress, take important business tasks off your plate, and improve your practice’s efficiency and organization.

My pups: Dakota and Buddy. My sweet Dakota is my “assistant” (hence the business name) and helps me manage my pain and mental health. I can help you because she helps me so much!
Tattoos: I’ve designed and drawn almost every tattoo I have! They’re one of my favorite creative expressions and every single one has a special meaning.
True Crime: I’m a Murderino at heart, and my mom and I even have plans for a custom SSDGM tattoo soon.

YOUR GO-TO MENTAL HEALTH VIRTUAL ASSISTANT’S
Our Mental Health Virtual Assistants come to us with education and/or work experience in mental health-related fields. Our Billing Assistants come to us with training and professional experience in medical and mental health billing.
When my team will be helping me in assisting your practice I personally train each member in areas specific to your practice, such as the systems you are using, the tasks you are requesting, and how to best represent you in a manner that reflects the persona of your practice. All of my assistants are based in the United States.
Each Virtual Assistant is chosen and trained based on years of experience working with mental health practitioners in various stages of creating and building their practices.
MENTAL HEALTH BILLING & CODING SPECIALIST
Hi! I’m Emma Howard, an experienced billing specialist supporting private practices.
I have over 15 years of healthcare experience in clinical and administrative roles but have spent the last several years finding a passion for mental health billing.
I find accomplishments in clean claims, insurance benefits, credentialing, aging detail, and excellent customer service. I love working with claims and seeing them through until they are paid!
Let’s face it insurance and billing can be frustrating at times, but not for me, I love getting to the reason for the denial and fixing the issue.

Her Family: Emma has been married for 3 years and has a beautiful 16-month-old daughter named Lily.
Her Pup: Emma has a 4-year-old dachshund named Jax that keeps everyone laughing daily with his antics. He is super loyal and has the sweetest personality.
Adventures & Sports: Emma and her family LOVE road trips and attending concerts as often as they can. They also try to make it to at least a few football games every season. Fly Eagles Fly!!

Hi! I’m Christina McCarthy and I am a mental health virtual assistant specializing in intake coordination for private practices.
I have worked in mental health and human services for 8 years. Working in case management and counseling, I have always loved onboarding new clients. As a mental health advocate, I am passionate about helping people find the support that they need to live their happiest, healthiest life.
In a private practice, taking on a new client can be time-consuming. My goal is to make onboarding a seamless process. I connect with potential clients to make sure they are the right fit for your practice and take care of the administrative piece. This means you get to stay focused on the most important part of your practice, your clients.

Art: Christina is happiest when she spends time on creative projects, especially painting. She started her career as an activities professional working with adults living with dementia.
The Stars: Christina is a night owl and astrology enthusiast. Studying astrology is one of her favorite pastimes.
Day Trips: On weekends Christina enjoys exploring new towns with her husband for a change of scenery.

Hey, ya’ll! My name is Kathryn and yes, I’m from the south! I was born in GA and grew up in Amelia Island, FL. In 2021 I made the move all the way across the country to sunny San Diego, CA.
I’ve always been passionate about many things like Jesus, mental health advocacy, organization, and small businesses just to name a few. I have also worn many hats throughout my life including volleyball coach, health intake coordinator, childcare provider, church youth advisor, solar recruiting manager, and of course social media virtual assistant!
At The Dakota Assist, I help with social media lead generation and engagement! I enjoy connecting with your audience and helping you grow your presence online.
